Survivor Title
Hello.
I would like to make legendary survivor on my new assassin. This Sin is going to be my main character so it has to be legendary survivor. Could you give me some advices how to acomplish that? I have not much cash, its enough only for 70armor set and tomes. I have only Factions. I unlocked hard mode already on my monk. I have both daggers that are given when i finished factions (shiro daggers(hp steal) and those with energy steal). So, what builds that use only Factions skills i can use? Which runes should i put on my armor? Where can i farm? thx v. much |

So just be careful ask some friends help you with, finish all missions first then do side quests, and you get the title. will be hard but can be done quite easyly

easy with a 'sin tbh
just put att. points into shadow arts and pack out with block skills [shroud of distress] and similar stuff like that to keep yourself alive....best to get a ranged item....spear + shield set or similar maybe run a/r with a bow (better than trying to frontline if you want to leg survivor TBH) just do all missions etc. (maybe buy that letter or whatever for the "missing son" quest(? - correct name)? it nets 4k xp also maybe try getting zen daijen run...costs ~1-2k (saves on danger of being PWNT by the rit boss at the end just make sure you take as many support chars as possible...monks / rits / ward ele etc. DON'T TANK...<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T PUG...<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! be smart and >F12< is your friend if you get in crap O and be patient...its not to hard to get survivor (factions is best for doing it anyway) - just be smart...i've managed canthan vanquisher on my mates rit and kept the survivor title going after vanqing all areas so it is easily possible to keep yourself alive.... also take one of the rep books from Kaineng center then turn it in once you beat the game it gives nice XP ALSO GET RID OF SHIRO'S DAGGERS - VAMPIRIC IS BAD FOR SURVIVOR (IT KILLS YOU SLOWLY LOL)! O and good luck |

payne, you forgot that he only has Factions. so equipping a Spear is out of the question, well he can buy one but he can't go A/P and use Spear skills. also he won't be able to H&H due to him not having any heroes.
not sure if he will have the books, I think he will so that's something. also there are quests like Save the Roost I think it's called, that gives you a lot of xp, like 10k or so, for 2 plat. other than that get used to PuGs Imho because you don't have access to heroes. Critical Barrager(once you can capture Barrage) will probably be your best bet, it won't be as effective as the Wiki build due to it using [way of the master] and other skills from different campaigns, and of course PvE only skills besides that crappy Luxon/Kurzick skill you will be able to get. also, put your "log off" key somewhere you can reach quickly, leave it at F12 if it's comfortable to you, and work on your instincts as you will need to use it a lot under your present conditions. other than that, play the game normally, with PuGs most of the time, prefferably with a Critical Bow build to reduce your chance of getting body blocked and generally increase your survival rate. oh and don't go into HM unless you got a guid group or something, cause there's no way you can survive there just with henchies. |

where to start...
Quote:
don't PUG if they catch on your survivor there is generally 5/100 (probs more) that will deliberately over aggro to ruin your title (truths matey) |

Survivor is kindof a vanity title, but aren't they all?
Anyways. This is step-by-step what you need to do: 1) Mow your neighbors lawn for $20. 2) Take that money to Gamestop or EB or whatever. Buy EoTN. 3) Go to Gunnars. 4) Do Kilroy's Punchout over and over for XP. Serioulsy, you could make $20 doing leaves or pulling weeds and still get to survivor more quickly through punchout. |

Agree on capping elites. Further just do ALL those quests outside KC, it got my ele from I think lvl7 or something to lvl20. You get all lvl20 henchies so its quite easy. Then get some friends with heroes to help you out and heroes>henchies imo.
Change district and find out which has the best ping so you don't get crappy lagg deaths Thats about it |

Ok, i did 215 000 exp just doing all avaliable quests.
But now there is no more quests in shing yea/Market/Kaineng. All i can do is to proceed with main quest. So i have very important question about coop missions. What happens, if during mission i wont die, but i will fail? For example, what if in Tahnnakai Temple Master Togo dies? Then i fail and there is animation that my character dies. Is that really death that counts to /deaths and stop my survivor? If you are not sure, i would be reeeeealy grateful if someone who dont make survivor go to tahnnakai for a sec without any henchs, let Togo die, loose mission and see if his /deaths count is +1. If there is a risk that i will fail to do survivor, ill go back to grind on mantidas HM xD |

As far as I can remember mission failures do not count as deaths, nor do others deaths during cinematics - like the one at the end of Vizunah Square mission.
But anyway, you can check all the info about what counts as death and what does not in the wiki. |

Arctica is correct, but it is worth noting that if you have minions during Vinuzah Square, your forced death during the cutscene will unbind them - rendering them aggressive towards the party itself. If they kill you, it is a counted death.

Yep ^^ So my suggestion is go without an MM, shouldn't be hard since you dont have NF right?

These deaths dont count:
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Forced_death I believe failing in a mission is one of them. |

Im trying like 8th time now.
I decided to try something new instead of making quests. Im farming on 3 Jade Knights near entrance to Marketplace. I am using zealous Daggers. I have runes 5*+10hp and 5*+10def against slashing. I use Way of Perfection + Critical Defences + Flashing Blades and then spam death blossom until 3 jades are dead. It takes about 20 seconds so Flashing blades are allways on. Each jade knight in Hard Mode gives me 300 exp, and i kill them <20 seconds, so with going back to town it gives me ~~1k exp/ minute. Jades gives me also enough money to buy 10min scrolls so i coild have it always on. Legendary survivor = ~~15 hours then. The problem is that it seems to lot about luck, couse 2second lag and im dead. Do you have any better assassin build to farm those 3 jade knights? I have only Factions |

Refresh
Hi again.
Sorry for double post but i had to refresh this thread since there are already new threads about survivor. I will remind you what did i try to do to make survivor, so you dont have to read whole topic again ;p Ok, so i am making lvl 20 by making easy quest in kaineng. Then i am trying to exp on 3 jade knights on Marketplace entrance on hard mode. Each give 300exp, so its 900 exp per group. Killing them takes ~20 seconds + 20 seconds to teleport back to Marketplace and come back gives 900exp/40 seconds=~1350exp/minute. Jade knights also give enough money to have always +50%scroll on, so its ~2000exp/minute. So from getting lvl 20 to Legendary survivor it takes 600 minutes = 10 hours. Its impossible to exp without breaks and guildchats etc so lets say it takes 20 hours. 2 days of exp 10 hours a day and you are leg survivor ;p So thats what i do: 1. [Way of Perfection] and wait till energy fill up. 2. Aggro and cast [Flashing Blades] and [Critical Defenses] 3. Start attacking and cast [Critical Eye]. 4. Spam [Jagged Strike] [Wild Strike] [Death Blossom] and sometimes [Critical Strike] So my skill bar is: [Jagged Strike][Wild Strike][Death Blossom][Critical Strike][Flashing Blades][Critical Defenses][Way of Perfection][Dash] I am using runes 5*+10hp and 4*+10defence against slashing With 13dagger mastery and 13 Critical Strikes i can kill 3 Jade Knights before Flashing blades ends. The problem is that its about luck and its possible to die this way if i wont make critical strika before Critical Defenses ends. Are there any better build to do it? Can i survive using something like that? [Jagged Strike][Wild Strike][Critical Strike][Moebius Strike][Death Blossom][Critical Defenses][Way of Perfection][Dash] Or if its not enough to stay alive with just a Critical Defences, maybe i should try something like that? [Jagged Strike][Wild Strike][Critical Strike][Moebius Strike][Death Blossom][Critical Defenses][Way of Perfection][Shadow Refuge] It would make red bar go up but with just a 3 in shadow arts its not much for a spell that takes 1 second to cast. I could also use something like this: [Jagged Strike][Wild Strike][Critical Strike][Moebius Strike][Death Blossom][Critical Defenses][Way of Perfection][Shroud of Distress] The problem is that Shroud of distress doesnt help me much, couse after loosing more than a half of my Health, i shoud escape to avoid lag death. My last idea is to make my shadow arts 16, Dagger Mastery 15 and Critical Strikes 6. (With Shadow form -225hp from superior runes doesnt matter) Then i could make something like this: [Jagged Strike][Wild Strike][Death Blossom][Shadow Form][Critical Eye][Dash] But here is my question. With -33%dmg from shadow form, will i be able to kill 3 Jade Knights in hard mode before Shadow Form ends? It lefts my 56HP so i surely die if it ends. Do you have any ideas what build should i use for this? Or maybe you can recommend me some changes in those i wrote up? Thx for answers ;] Last edited by Dacomos; Mar 24, 2009 at 03:51 PM // 15:51.. |

Hi.
Im forced to bump this thread, becouse im still lacking game experience to find my own way of jade knights grind. Please, post your opinions, or methods to improve those builds, or combination of runes, whatever you like. And i still dont know if using flashing blades + cry of of pain is good idea there. Thx |

I would not use [Shadow Form], because you can quickly be dead if not using a perma SF build. I would also avoid using superior runes of any attributes, as you need as high HP as you can get. You might also need hight defensive abilities and critical srikes.
So I would try something like this: [build prof=A/Ne Cri=10+1 Dag=10+2 Sha=11+1][Unsuspecting Strike][Wild Strike][Death Blossom][Flashing Blades][Critical Eye][Critical Defenses][Shadow Refuge][Way of Perfection][/build] And use as many defensive insignias on your armor as you can.
